Pretty in Pink Giveaway Skirt

I have completed the skirt from my Pretty in Pink Giveaway that I had over at Bouffe e Bambini. The contestant winner Shari from the blog Blessdom

The fabric is a lovely damask with peacocks in teal, the ground is hot pink. Underneath is tulle and partial lining to protect the wearer from itchy tulle syndrome. The waistband has elastic at the back for ease. All of the seams are serged professionally for durability.

Well, I am still working on that engagement party dress!!!! Now is the time to panic, joking. I can't wait to share it with you.

Gwen Floppy Bunny doll

I am in the process of getting organized. Normally, I am quite organized, but not living in my own place can be a bit chaotic! So far on my workload is the engagement party dress, the skirt, and stock! I did my swaps, so yea!

It's time for another celebrity doll! This time, I made a doll inspired from Gwen Stefani!!! I am making a version 2 as well...so many things i want to make. This doll is made from fine linen, and i'm trying out this face painting thing. I have been painting in general for many years.

Amigurumi Owl

I'm a part of a site called Swap-bot. It's where you swap goods, mail, postcards, and small packages. It's a fun way to meet people, and a cool community. I was in a Craft Your Own Craft Swap Round 9, and I sent out a kawaii sweets print tote. I received, from a different person than I sent to, a amigurumi owl! How awesome is that! She read my profile and told me that she wanted to make something that I would like since  I love kawaii and owls.

And in other news, I have the fabric for the engagement party dress!!!! Time to get to work on making the pattern and draping ^_^

Engagement Party Dress Meeting II

I have fabric on my mind! Whew, I have picked many swatches and my lovely customer has spoken. Here are the swatches for her dress:

Also, I have bought the fabric for the Pretty in Pink contest winner's skirt. Working on it now, and Pattie is working on the clutch. I combined her like for teal, and pink and found this wonderful batik cotton print. Here is a swatch for her skirt:

Feeling Jilly: Jill Stuart 2011

I'm feeling quite Jilly today after scanning the latest issue of my Japanese shopping mag. I want to share my inspiration with everyone!

On another note, I had my fit meeting with the bride-to-be Pattie from My Structured Chaos. It went great! She is not like Bridezilla, and was a breeze to work with. I can't wait to get started on this...and i'm still sick. Went to the doctor today and I have a random cold and infection, so more drugs for me *deadpan face*.

I think that my sewing machine might go on strike with these projects:

  • Pretty in Pink giveaway skirt
  • Engagement dress for Pattie
  • 2 swaps on Swap-bot
  • Secret project that will be soon revealed
  • Secret project #2 that will soon be revealed

Spring 2011 Floppy Bunnies

Spring is here, (at least where I live), and the pollen is in the air giving me a few left hooks to the jugular! Sorry that I have not posted in a few days, i'm off to visit blogs and such.

Here are some lovely Floppy Bunnies from my Spring 2011 collection:

Japanese Fashion: Color Splash

This has been another crazy week! I have too many sewing projects on my task board, and on top of that I have a PAYING client to meet with on Monday! Will share the details next week.

Lately, I have been ordering fabric like it's the new cinnamon roll and i'm feeling a bit inspired! This season i'm feeling colorful:

Mango Cheesecake with Fresh Fruit

I love making cheesecake! It's easy, fun, and always hits the spot. I finally decided to leave my comfort zone and try a new recipe. I was a bit disappointed with the results. It tastes great though! I'm not posting the recipe because the one that I found requires tweaking. I just added the fruit and put a glaze over it as a sweet extra!

Rockin' Out Doll: Liza the Lead Singer

I finally finished one of my dolls from the Rockin' Out series! It was some project, and it's a good feeling that she resembles the sketch perfectly. She is the lead singer of the band, (that I made up). Her name is Liza:

Japanese Fashion: Romantic Inspiration

I'm sure that everyone has heard about the earthquakes and tsunami in Japan. It's so heartbreaking to hear, and I have friends over there. For the first time ever, Facebook has become important to me, because people are updating their status like crazy! I'm praying that the missing will be discovered soon.

I'm happy that so many are helping out with relief and aid. Though this is a sad time, I still would like to share a bit of inspiration from my favorite Japanese magazine! I'm still feeling a bit romantic from last week.  Let's keep our chins up, and help with the relief work in any way that we can.
