Back to School Collection Photo Shoot

I am finished with the major pieces of my "Back to School" collection. I was inspired to make this line after seeing some tees that were begging to be turned into Floppy Bunnies! I am still working on my knitted necklaces. They are simple in design, but come in a variety of colors.

New! Back to School Collection

Whew, I have been busy these last 2-3 days! I am currently working on 2 lines. My "Back to School" line, and another one. The second one is classy. I would love to go into more details, but it is late after all.

I had a brief lunch of fresh chopped tomatoes sprinkled with feta and an olive oil and balsamic vinegar emulsion. I also added a sprinkle of herbs and cracked black pepper.

Grand Opening!?

I guess I did this the wrong way folks. Well, I opened my store yesterday, but I did not make a post about it. So here is that missing post. The store is open, and new items will be added daily. The line that is currently up for grabs is my Rockin' Out collection! The color scheme and prints came from favorite songs of mine.
Did I mention that i'm offering free shipping to those who follow my blog? Well, I am, lol.

My shop is finally open. New items will be added daily, and the holiday collection will be out soon!

The first 20 people to "follow" me on my blog, and "fan" me on Facebook will recieve free shipping worldwide!!! Not only will it be free, it will be free express shipping!!!!!

You have to act fast, because I am only offering this special till November 28th!

Free Gift with Purchase

I am opening my shop on Etsy today! Yeeaaa, I'm very excited about this move. This will be my second attempt to have a shop on Etsy. I am coming in with better pictures and a positive attitude.

I have sold merchandise online from other venues, and in person. When running a business, customer service is vital and the key stone. Personally, I love receiving free extras when i make a purchase. Here is what i am offering:

For purchases over $50 before shipping, you will receive this eco-friendly shopping bag:

These bags are reversible, and make great gifts for the environmentally conscience. They are made from 100% cotton in hard to find prints. You can fold and roll it up, and store it in the drawstring bag. It will fit in your purse, car, bag, or in your office desk. Be eco-friendly, be bold.

Bag specs are as followed: Height-20 1/2" in (52.07 cm)
                                          Width-16" in (40.64 cm)
                                          Pocket: H-6 1/2"in (16.51 cm)
                                                      W-8 1/4"in (21.59 cm)
For purchases $100 and over before shipping, you will receive one of these limited edition fleece Floppy Bunnies:

These ivory fleece Floppy Bunnies are extremely soft. I hand embroidered their faces on using a chain stitch with 100% linen embroidery floss. They make a lovely last-minute gift for children, or adults that enjoy stuffies. They both have names and the one on the left is Schneien ("to snow" in German) the Snow Bunny (girl), and her friend beside her is Winter the Snow Rabbit (boy).

Schneien is 15"in (38.1 cm) in Height.
Winter is 15 1/2" (39.37 cm) in in Height.

They are available only as a promotional item for my etsy shop, and are in limited quantities.

Photo Shoot: Betty Flare & Jack Rabbit dolls

I did a photo shoot with 2 Rockin' Out dolls from my upcoming series. The characters are Betty Flare and Jack Rabbit her boyfriend. Enjoy!

"I'm so mad with you! Ahhhhhh!," screams Betty. *punches in face*

Jack Rabbit says, "I swear I didn't do it!"

Betty Flare pauses from hitting the crap out of Jack.

Betty stares at Jack and says, "Are you sure that you didn't
eat that last slice of strawberry cheesecake?"

They embrace and Jack says, "I am positive that I did not eat it".

"I forgive you Jack. I'm sorry," says Betty as she hugs Jack.

They have kissed and made up.
Betty has such a hot temper, but Jack always forgives her. By the way, Jack didn't eat Betty's cheesecake, but someone else!

To be continued...

Inspired by Plaid and Japanese Fashion Mag

This past week has been a doozy! Trying to finish one line one at a time can become tiring. I want to take a short break from making merchandise and make something for myself for once. Have any of you out there ever been asked, "Did you make that?" Well, I get asked that often, but I am never wearing anything that I've made because...I never have time to sew for myself, lol. I have not made clothing for myself since...high school, and a few projects in college.

So sewers, I beg of you...what would you make with these fabric choices? I bought a woven tartan plaid with navy background and red and green plaid with gold thread. The other two are flannel fabrics. Did i mention that I had this fabric for 2 years?

Tartan, woven

Red and black check on flannel

Slate blue with olive and black plaid flannel
So, I was going through my pattern collection and I didn't see anything that inspired me to create. I remembered that before i left NY, I had went to Kinokuniya Bookstore before I left and made a few fun purchases. After fervently searching through the sewing book and the fashion magazine I came up with these scans.
Honestly, I just love the kwaii factor in this ad

Please check the check section, bad joke i know :)

I'm in love with the red tartan dress. The color pops, and the lines are classic.

I admire the shape of the ivory sweater dress with the front bow-tie.
I also like the striped mohair dress. Classic sheath style.

Another ad that i love...and that dress of course
On to the sewing book. The photography in this book is stunning, and the women appear to be ethereal and gentle. But, my favorite part about many Japanese sewing books are the tear out patterns to accompany the book. In another post, I will help with cost effective ways to draft patterns from home using supplies around the home and such.

If anyone has any ideas on what to make with this fabric, please post your comments. Thanks everyone!

Bunny Gaga

Bunny Gaga is finally complete! It took me over 2 weeks to complete her, but she is now a part of the Rockin' Out series for my etsy shop.

My little sister helped me with the idea of her photo shoot. The doll was inspired by Lady Gaga, but her clothing, (and the doll design) is my original design 100%. I wanted the doll to look like the celeb, but in clothing that i designed, that she might wear in real life.

Bunny Gaga is from my brand of dolls, the Floppy Bunnies. I hope that you all enjoy the pics as much as I had a ball making her.
